it turns out that morning drinking suits me about as much as afternoon drinking does. it takes 2 or 3 drinks to get me drunk and then i'm done for the rest of the day. i fell asleep after merry and t left. merry had come over straight from a night shift at the hospital, he had more to drink than me and he was still looking more awake than i did! i'm trying to support brazil but i don't seem to be able to shake the fact that i'm from europe. which is kind of odd because i never really consider england as part of europe because we are an island apart from the rest. i'm trying to get the cg to go to the pub for lunch to watch the second half. he's like a dead dog after his trip to ottawa. at least for this game we have more chance of getting into a pub. at 7.30am the queue at library square was so long that we had to head home and watch the england game here. they were only letting the first 300 people in and we were definitely not in that group. i've never seen so many english people together in one group since i left england. i felt quite homesick.

i can't fucking watch. england have never won with penalties. i feel sick. that may be something to do with all the wine i started drinking when rooney got taken off but penalties are just too much.
