i'm all for respecting other people's religions and beliefs. however i do have a bit of a problem with the whole "happy holidays" thing. where i come from this phrase actually means that you are wishing a person a nice vacation perhaps to the south of france or if they are a bit posher, the caribbean. i don't want to have to use that phrase. i want to wish people a happy christmas because i want them to be happy, and for me it's christmas. i'm also more than pleased to wish people happy hanukkah and happy chinese new year (later on) if that's their deal. spread the love people. let's celebrate everything for its individuality and not just lump it all together. if someone is wishing you happiness in the name of any religion (or no religion at all) then i think it would be churlish not to take it.
