G has been so close to crawling forward for the last couple of weeks that every day i think it's going to be the day she becomes forwardly mobile. she knows what to do, she lifts her bum in the air, gets on her knees, bobs back and forth on her arms and then, much to her frustration, she starts moving backwards, usually to end up jammed under the sofa or coffee table. she may not have the whole mobility thing sorted yet but today she surprised us by displaying her parroting skills. the cg and i had been goofing around and trying to get her to say daddy, or rather dada, and suddenly she started to copy us. she started by just opening and closing her mouth without any sound and then she said it so quietly that we could hardly hear it but for some reason she looked really pleased with herself when she said it. she only said it out loud a couple of times but it really shocked us. now we just have to get her to understand what, or rather who, dada is!
