i won't miss this part of pregnancy

for the second night in a row, i've woken up with period type pains which i'm guessing are painful braxton hicks although as with most pregnancy things i'm not entirely sure. i'm also getting sharp pains in my cervix when i walk which feels like the baby's head is bumping against it. i'm sure all this is perfectly normal but it's kind of bizarre. my SIL told me that my other SIL is also having BH contractions so it looks like we are going to have a race to the finish. she is due 3 days after me but this is her second baby so it could come first.
my parents are arriving for a visit today. they are staying until Friday and are going to try and keep me from boredom and madness. at least i hope they are.
i'm so thirsty all the time now. i spend a significant amount of time drinking and peeing. i won't miss this part of pregnancy!
