i went for my routine midwife appointment at 1.30pm. it all went well until she listened to the heartbeat and decided that it was just a little too slow for her liking. she called the hospital and told them i was coming in for monitoring. i, in turn, called the cg and told him that we had to go to the hospital right now. it was kind of like a practice run for the real labour deal. obviously things weren't quite as panicked, and i was surprising calm about the whole thing, but i could feel the tension coming off the cg as he cursed his way through the traffic. after half an hour of being hooked up to a machine, we were told that everything was fine and dandy, and we both heaved a heavy sigh of relief and headed home. i have a feeling that baby G is going to be a bit of a handful! tonight we have a breastfeeding workshop. won't that be fun.
