i work in the community social services sector. the employees in this sector get paid much less than their counterparts in the community health sector and therefore we are often left with the bottom of the barrel in terms of carers. Obviously this is not true in all cases. i'm sure there are many, many people who work in social services who do an amazing job but the ones i encounter are the bad eggs. the ones who abuse the clients and steal from their employees and sleep with their co-workers husbands in the parking lot of the facility. despite the overwhelming evidence i see in the cases that pass my desk, sometimes it's hard for me to believe that not all people are good. why aren't all people good?

i have to confess that i'm getting slighty addicted to the show "bringing home baby". we watch it every morning when we are having breakfast and it makes me wish things were moving faster for us. i know it's still early days but i'm just not that great at being patient. although maybe this is good for me, because, from what i've seen of other families, having a child will require and abundance of patience.
we're busy. we've been finalizing details for the reno's and spending time with friends and going to the gym, not to mention the fact that it's the cg's birthday on friday. he's 36. which in my mind is a hop, skip and a jump away from 40.
