from mittensgirl :
is it rude of me to say that you don't really seem like either of you wants to have a kid.
from milkyjoe :
We want it, well do it and everything will be great and scary at the same time. Then later well have a coconut three-way.
i've been in meetings all morning so i guess the cg answered the question for me. except i wouldn't mind adding that yes it is a bit rude. it's a little too close to implying that we wouldn't make good parents and we would. we'd be great (i'm great with kids and the cg still is one). some people just love the idea of having a kid and that's enough of a reason for them, i guess i just want to be prepared. i didn't get to be the assistant to a ceo without being methodical and having highly developed organizational skills. i've looked into day care (you have to get your kid signed up as soon as you know you are having one because there is a serious daycare shortage), i've checked out swimming classes and story times at the library, i'm 99% sure of the "travel system" i want to buy and we've discussed everything from discipline to the parents bed/own bed issue. being scared but prepared doesn't mean i don't want to be a mother. i just want to be the best mother i can and if i'm not going to be a good mother i don't want to do it at all. as for the coconut three-way, the cg is on his own with that one.
