we went for japanese. i fell in love with the guy sitting at the table next to us. i couldn't hear what he was saying but i just liked how he was saying it. luckily by the time we had left the restaurant i had more or less fallen out of love with him and with a small amount of time and therapy i should be ready for my next dinner hour broken heart.

i very rarely get mail addressed directly to me at work. today i found two letters in my mail slot from two entirely different and unconnected sources (ie two different unions). in one letter i was referred to as "Counsel for the Employer" and in the other i was bestowed with the title of "Coordinator, Legal Services Department". as far as i am aware my position is that of "Administrative Assistant" but I'm thinking that perhaps the unions know something i don't know (and that wouldn't honestly surprise me because i'm generally the last to know anything around here). I should probably head down to the human resources department and demand a pay rise equivalent to my new legal position with the two letters as evidence.

the memory man has left the building. that was severely painful. he was the kind of guy that thinks he's funny but isn't. i cringed for 90 minutes straight..it was tiring. the best bit was the fact that the guy was late. he forgot the appointment!

we used to have weekly staff meetings at work. they would last forever as each team would spend an unnecessary amount of time telling the group what it was doing (or rather proving that it was actually doing something). when the new CEO arrived last year he outlawed these meetings and devised a new form of torture. we now have only 4 staff meetings a year and no one has to talk. rather we all have to listen to someone from the outside world talking about something non-work related. so far we've had a stress management person, someone blathering on about nutrition and today its "the memory man". i've got my fingers crossed that next time they bring in a clown...preferably one that makes animals out of balloons. that would be pretty cool.
i'm listening to the lemonheads. i spent a night in a police station because of these guys. happy memories.
