the bruises look even more impressive today (i'm thinking of doing a gallery of photos) but in terms of pain they are nothing compared to the muscle ache in my back, neck, arms, ribs and right thigh. i feel like i've been in a car crash. in fact i know people who have been in car crashes and escaped with more minor injuries. the difference between me and them is that i did this to myself. what a weird little person i must be. anyway i have a week to recover before i hit the slopes in whistler for 5 days straight. i am praying for softer snow or for the skills i learned last year in the art of snowboarding to quickly return. as for the dress i had planned to wear for my swanky christmas day dinner at the posh hotel, i'm thinking its going to be a no-go since even a trowel of make-up would probably not hide the knee bruisage. buggar.

first day of the new snowboarding season. the snow was packed hard. i came away with 2 red/purple bruises on my left knee, 1 black/purple one on my right knee, a red/blue one on my right shin, a twisted ankle and a pain in my left big toe that hasn't subsided despite heavy duty pain killers. on the way home i turned to the coolest guy and said "so are we going again tomorrow or what?"
(luckily he said no :))
