i decided that i needed a new email address. there were a number of factors involved in this decision and at least a smidgeon of logic. one of the reasons was that i wanted an address with my name in it so i could use it on resumes (having the god of chaos as your email address doesn't look that great if you are trying to get work!). i also wanted a new address that i could give out to people in vancouver when i left, that wouldn't be so hard for them to remember (unless they forgot my name!!)). i didn't think changing my address would be that much of a pain in the arse but it is. i haven't officially sent out an email to people telling them i've changed my address because that just seems weird unless i have another piece of news to go with it. so now i'm trying to remember to check both email accounts and use the new address for signing up to things rather than the old one. i've also realised that all my calendar info is under the old address which considering my social life shouldn't be that big a deal. however, i've been tracking (and this may be too much information for some people) when we have sex, when i get my period, when i should be ovulating. there's also all my birthday information and a bunch of other nonsense that i'd really not lose. basically i have about 8 or 9 years of stuff under my old address and it's not that easy to just move on.
