the first time i met the cg's dad was when he came to drive the cg home from college. i bumped into him, and the cgs 14 year old sister, as i was making an early morning exit out of the cg's front door; my hair was unbrushed and i was still buttoning up my blouse. classy. that was 14 years ago.
yesterday while we were waiting for the cg to get home from work the cg's dad and i had a real heart to heart. we talked about everything from family to relationships to career options and when we were all done he said to me: "this might be a little too personal but i've known you a long time and i've never seen you as happy as you are now. it is as though you've left something behind [in england] and become more comfortable with yourself". i have changed. i made an effort to do so. it's nice that someone else has noticed a difference.
