there are at least a couple of big uk child abduction cases that sporadically creep back into the media. it wasn't until G came along that these cases really resonated with me. after reading about one of the cases earlier all i wanted to do was go into Gs room and watch her sleeping for a while. she is so beautiful when she sleeps, with her head held high. i think i would implode if someone took her away from me. ok, enough of that.
it's been a great weekend. we did a whole lot of nothing but had fun doing it. i'm probably going to jinx it by saying this but G seems to be sleeping through again. long may it continue - at least during the week when i get up to deal with things.
i can hardly believe it but the first baby from our ante-natal group is going to be one year old this week. it doesn't seem like a minute ago that L was collapsing on our driveway and we were in the ambulance heading for her emergency c-section and blood transfusion!! what a night that was - it was almost as memorable as our own birth story and maybe more so since i was so out of it for ours! we are going to have a big get-together to celebrate the babies birthdays - i still thank my lucky stars that we met such a lovely bunch of couples. i truely believe that my first year as a mother has been made so much easier and much more fun by meeting and knowing these people.
