the cg is leaving for Panama in about an hour. he'll be away nearly a week and we are really going to miss him. my parents are coming tomorrow to stay with us which is nice but not the same as having daddy here. thank god for blackberry's and email.
G will be 9 months old next weekend. the one thing i hear new mums say more than anything else is "i can't believe how quickly the time goes by". i say it myself regularly. G is growing up - sometimes i can see in her face the little girl she is going to become. right now she is sitting on the living room floor playing with a group of toys. every now and again she turns to look at me and gives me a big smile and an occasional wave. it's only a little thing but it feels like a big connection between us.
today we have nothing planned. we tend to be quite busy during the week - i try and get out and about with other mums as much as i can because i think we both need the interaction with other adults and babies. i love going to rhyme time at the library and meeting up with the women i met in ante-natal class. i've known them nearly a year now and i feel so lucky to have met such a great group of women. the signing class is also something i've grown to enjoy - so much that i signed us up for another term of it. it won't be long before we are no longer eligible for the Under 1s group we go to but i've signed G up for swimming lessons to start after her 1st birthday so we'll still be as busy as ever. today though we are just going to hang out, maybe take a walk in the winter wonderland outside and try not to miss daddy too much.
