one of the questions i was asked in my interview yesterday was "on a scale of one to ten how would you rate morale at work". i said that my personal morale was probably about 6/7 but for the company as a whole it was more like 4/5. however, since i left the meeting my morale has taken a swift dive and right now i'm probably bringing the company average down to about 3. what i didn't say in my interview was that i just wish we could stop focussing on things like lay-offs and core reviews and compensation and benefits reviews and serious restructuring for long enough to actually do our jobs.

if the only people voting in the election today were people i know then kerry would walk it. unfortunately, there are a lot of people i don't know and they can vote too.
